Custom TailoredOne of my favorite parts of computer games is what happens when you become bored with a game. Let's face it â even your favorite game can become boring after you've played it for hours on end. With a PC game, however, that isn't nessicarily the end of the game's life. If the game is popular, you can often download mods that change it significantly, breathing new life into your old favorite. Dawn of War 2 is a very popular game indeed, so it's no surprise there are some great mods out there for it. I messed around with a number of them and picked out the best so you know what to download. Ultimate ApocalypsePart of Dawn of War 2's appeal is the sheer spectacle of it all. Big, tough guys with big weapons are shooting big mechs and big aliens. When people or aliens die, they die in big bursts of glory with big chunks of blood and guts flying everywhere. It's like a monster truck doing a backflip; absurd, completely unnessecary, and totally awesome. Ultimate Apocolypse simply turns it up to 11. You'll find new units in this mod, spanning even more technology tiers. You'll also find new structures, that can deliver incredible destruction. Why settle for blowing up just one screens worth of terrain when you can blow up four, right? Finally, the army sizes are dramatically increased, so you'll be fielding way more units than in the normal game. If you are looking for some sort of challenge or balance, this isn't going to be great mod for you. This is simply an 11-year old's fantasy lived large. But there's nothing wrong with that; the Total Annihilation franchise had some great games based on that and little more. Space Hulk ModSpace Hulk is a board game in the Warhammer 40k universe that centers on the adventures of a group of Space Marines who have to investigate a 'Space Hulk' â a giant ball of junk floating through Imperium space. These hulks often contain information or technology of great age and value, but as you might expect, they also often contain nasty aliens that must be eliminated. Those aliens are actually played by another player, who tries to stop the Space Marines. The Space Hulk mod essentially replicates the board game within the Dawn of War 2 engine. There are a number of Terminators in the Space Marine squad, and a second player can play the role of the aliens (called Genestealers). It's competitive game, but not in the way of Dawn of War 2's normal multiplayer. Finding a match by yourself can be hard, but if you have a friend with Dawn of War 2, playing with them results in a very unique experience. Finding MoreThese two mods should provide you with hours of additional fun from Dawn of War 2. But what if you want more? Lots of projects, in various stages, are available on the Relic News forums. You can also find a map editor there, so you can make your own new maps for the game. Finishing Dawn of War 2 is not the end â it's only the beginning! Suit UpOne of the more interesting gameplay features included in Dawn Of War II is Wargear. These items, which include various weapons, armors, health packs, and grenades, are usable in both single-player and multi-player. Then have a major effect on what your squads are capable of. Choosing certain pieces of Wargear over others will make a squad stronger in some areas and weaker in others. Wargear can also unlock special abilities that can turn the tide of battle. Despite this, Dawn Of War II is not exactly keen on explaining what Wargear does. Players getting into the game will immediately notice that the way Wargear works in single-player is completely different than the way it works in multi-player. This guide will help you understand how to use Wargear, so that youâll be better in both single-player and multi-player. Finding Single-Player WargearThe single-player campaign of Dawn Of War II includes elements that have been borrowed directly from the RPG genre. Your individual squads are identified by their leader, who is also a main character in the campaign. For example, your scout squad is lead by Cyrus. Your squads will level up like characters in a standard RPG, and you can also customize squads with items, or Wargear. Wargear is essential if you plan to get good ratings in every campaign mission. Of course, you canât equip Wargear unless you have it, so you will want to look out for it. You will always be rewarded with some type of Wargear when you complete a mission, and the Wargear which youâll be given is outlined at the beginning of the mission. But you will also often find Wargear randomly dropped by defeated opponents. Keep an eye out for this, as some great Wargear can be had this way, and it is easy to skip over a Wargear drop when under assault by a mass of Tyranids. Using Wargear in Single-PlayerYou can outfit your squads with whatever Wargear you choose between missions. In the early campaign this is simple, as you wonât have many Wargear options. As the campaign moves on, however, youâll gain a larger and larger collection of weapons, armors, and other equipment. Choosing the right equipment can mean the difference between victory and defeat, particularly in the storyline missions, which often throw a specific challenge towards you. Luckily, you can prepare. The mission summary usually offers some kind of hint which will tell you if youâre going to run into a specific threat. If the hint suggests that missiles are great against vehicles, then it is a good bet that youâll run into a Wartrukk or Wraithlord. Also, the missions usually pit you against one type of enemy. If its Tyranids, bring weapons that a good at taking out swarms of melee enemies. If its the Eldar, you should probably veer towards heavy-hitting ranged weapons that will be good in a shoot-out. Finally, make sure that you use classic RPG common-sense when out-fitting your squads with Wargear. Just as in any RPG, youâll want to specialize and coordinate your Wargear use not only with your objectives and the enemies you face, but also with the things a squad is best at. A new bolter may look awesome, but sticking it on your Force Commander isnât a good choice. Multi-Player Wargear for SquadsUnlike single-player, multi-player Dawn Of War II has no leveling element. The squads you have are truly nameless whoevers, as is often the case in RTS games, and their existence throughout different games is not persistent. As such, Wargear can't be collected like in single-player and isn't out-fitted before the mission. Instead, each type of squad has pre-determined Wargear options already available, and those options can be chosen in exchange for resources. There are also many tech level restrictions. This same system applies regular squads and to hero units, but hero units have far more Wargear options and their Wargear acts a bit differently, as will be explained. On normal squads, Wargear is simply a way of upgrading your unit. The Tactical Marine Squad is a perfect example, due to its multiple Wargear options and how greatly the Wargear you pick effects what the Tactical Marines can do. When you start the game you have a single option â flamethrowers. If you have the resources available to buy flamers, and you do so, then that is the weapon the squad will be stuck with. You can't change to Missile Launchers later on. You can add a Sargeant, however; not all Wargear upgrades are exclusive, but weapon upgrades usually are. Wargear works differently for heroes. Like with regular squads, you must pay for Wargear, and some options are locked until you've researched the appropriate tier back at your HQ. Once you pay for an upgrade, you will gain access after a short interval. The Wargear cannot be refunded, but it can be changed out. Let's say, for example, you have an Eldar Warlock. Early on you encounter a Force Commander with a Iron Halo shield, making him difficult to take down. In response, you buy the Merciless WitchbladeWargear upgrade, which has the ability to drain energy and thus take down the Force Commander's shield. However, you find yourself getting swarmed by Tyranids later in the game, and wish you had the Witchblade Of Kurnous instead, which has a great AOE attack. No problem! Just buy the Witchblade Of Kurnous, and you can use it. What's better, you can switch between the weapons! This is often missed by new players, but it is very important. The only penalty for switching is that it takes about twenty seconds to switch between the weapons. The same is true for all other pieces of Wargear. If what you've originally bought simply isn't working, then change it out for something new. Multi-Player Wargear for HeroesWargear works differently for heroes. Like with regular squads, you must pay for Wargear, and some options are locked until you've researched the appropriate tier back at your HQ. Once you pay for an upgrade, you will gain use of it after a short interval. The Wargear cannot be refunded, but it can be changed out. Let's say, for example, you have an Eldar Warlock. Early on you encounter a Force Commander with an Iron Halo shield, making him difficult to take down. No problem! The only penalty for switching is that it takes about twenty seconds to switch between the weapons. The same is true for all other pieces of Wargear. If what you've originally bought simply isn't working, then change it out for something new. Experiment! These are the basics of Wargear. The concept is fairly simple overall. However, as is often the case with seemingly simple gameplay mechanics, there is a wealth of potential here. Using certain combinations of Wargear can create outstanding results; for example, using Heart Of Darkness for the Eldar Warlock along with his Psychic Shield makes the Warlock much stronger than he would be if Psychic Shield was used by itself. Keep experimenting to find more of these superb combinations. Just remember â Wargear is Relicâs means of giving you a way of customizing your squads. If you do not like how a squad is performing, then try to adjust the Wargear you use. There may be other combinations that will better fit your playstyle.

One of the best builds I ever played is the following (it is dependent on dlc wargear though):
Zapp Knife
Pokkit Rokkit
Tellyporta armour
Mad tellyporta pack
Sturdy bitz Cybork parts
Trophy Rack or boss pole.
Essentially what dis build does is allow you to absolutely spam with teleports which explode (because of the mad tellyporta pack). Combined with the zapp knifeâs massive damage and its ability to randomly teleport guys (which then also explode) is gold. Note also that because of sturdy bitz, you wont be knocked back by your own explosions. Trophy rack really helps to reduce damage taken by yourself. Bosspole can be handy to boost your allies. In the end, though, its all about sturdy bitz, mad teleporter, and the teleport ability. ReplyChibi Assassinsays:June 20th, 2014 at 3:11 pm
If you do not have the zapp knife, I recommend either taking a normal choppa or a rokkit launcha.
Iâve been throwing together something like a guide over here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=269348257

Seeing as all I see in comments is Juiced Up Tellyporta builds let me show you some builds that work without DLC and are ranged.
Big Shoota
ââ¬ËEavy Armor
Bouncy Shield
Sturdy Bitz Cybork Parts or Dokââ¬â¢s Tools
Roks or Trophy Rack
Just use the Bouncy Shield to keep melee enemies off of you and fire away. Rocks is good for group kills or Trophy Rack is good for survive ability.
Dakka Deffgun
Teleporta Pack
Cybork Parts
Sturdy Bitz Proximity Mines
Trophy Rack or Boss Poll
Just setup and teleport donât move and you wonât unsetup. Throw proximity mines on suppressed enemies and its that simple.

This is a beast as build: ReplyyelloTeethsays:January 25th, 2013 at 12:57 pm
Zzap Knife: So you can kill enemies quickly while also ensuring that you arenât completely surrounded as it will teleport a lot of enemies away. Leaky Armor: So that enemies that are brave enough to attack you up close, receive a nasty surprise or two. âUge Bombz: So that you can lay lots of big bombs around the map so that even in death you can support your team. Proximity Mines: So that you can lay lots of smaller bombs around the map, and when enemies are engaging you, drop them at your feet quickly and watch them sayâboomâ. Bouncy Shield: So that the enemy canât attack you up close while you are laying your bigger bombs. Boss Pole: So you can keep yourself and your allies in the fight for longer, it also means you can run up to shuriken turrets and kill them up close without taking forever.
Just got the 350kill unlock of Zzap knife, been struggling a while. Got the unlock on wave 18 on a good/lucky run, Level 20 Mekboy though :/ (took me long enough)
Gear:
Big Chopa âEavy armor
Sturdy Bitz
Cybork Parts Dokâs tools
Roks
Big Chopa will regen your Energy pretty fast as you kill, so donât hold back on using Roks, well donât drop it on allies, they might get impatient a bit.
âEavy armor plus Cybork parts gives 70% damage mitigation, this is important because you can drop Roks on yourself when âeavily :p surrounded by mobs, so, attract a bunch, drop Roks, and drop it early, donât wait until you are low on health or when your allies jump into the fray. Also, on later waves keep an eye out for clusters of range mobs in range of your Roks as you melee, that really helps with the numbers, and it actually helps everyone survive the wave.

a good build is
rokit pokit launcha
zaap knife(damage and more space) big choppa ( for energy regen)
juiced up tellyporta
cybork parts( extra armour) optional
boss poll trophy rack
i put optional because it all depends on what you want to put but sturdy bitz is a good choice so is the docs tool or bouncy cubble as your âoh crap buttonâ

@BigBomma
Iâve tried that build before with the Zaap Knife. The teleports from the knife are a real pain though. I found using the Big Choppa to be a better alternative. Also kills from protective and proactive teleport donât credit you for them.
ReplyBigBommasays:April 24th, 2012 at 8:24 pm
The best build i have discovered:
deepstriker(selfbomber): i think a lot of people already know this but a friend asked me to post it Zaap Knife + Pockit Rockit launcher
Telerporta pack (must have for teleportation)
Juiced Up Tellyporta
Sturdy Bitz + Cyborg parts
now you just jump into large groups of people and havôem EXPLODE! ReplyGian-Lucasays:March 19th, 2012 at 11:12 am
Only problems: proactive escape/ prtotecive teleport migh telly you next to an ally, dealing your friend a heap ôo damage (plus watch your energy so you dont run out) this build is also pretty decent for melee because of the Zaap knife you will be teleporting yourself and enemies around without using the ability
btw the boss pole and trophy rack should be swapped aorund ReplyMushrooMarssays:March 13th, 2012 at 2:56 am
i got poss pole on lv 5 and i havent got the trophy rcak cause i lv 13 so if u wnna switch it then do.
For those of you who havenât discovered it alreadyâ¦
Big Choppa
âEavy Armor/Leaky Armor (survivability vs passive, hilarious extra damage)
Proximity Mines (not booby traps)
Cybork parts/Speshul tools (more survivability vs. More spammability) Sturdy bitz
Trophy rack/Boss pole (your choice)
I call this one the shotty-mine build. Essentially, you simply chuck mines at your enemiesâ faces and run off to stab something to replenish your energy. 4 well placed mine clusters will kill anything smaller than a Choppa Nob, and all the mines clustered together will usually kill a single nob. Past that, you may have some trouble with excessively-armored enemies such as tyrant guards, but two or three throws should kill it (and maybe some stabbying).
This build annihilates waves like wave 9 on bloodied, just throw mines at your feet as enemies are closing in and watch your troubles disappear. Also, unlike the Roks Spam build, you donât need to worry about asploding yourself accidentally (mines do no damage to you, but they do knockback). You will also be able to solo larger enemies such as some tanks and deff dreads, but avoid dreadnaughts and the like (I have yet to kill a dreadnaught with this build).
I snagged the Zzap knife with this build, on anvil with some friends of mine. So long as you reach waves 18/19, you can get 350 kills easily every time you play (your team doesnât have to babysit you, BTW.) On the subject of teleport items, do NOT use mad tellyporta or zzap knife with this build. You get around 99% less kills.
ReplyThe Horglesays:February 8th, 2012 at 9:44 pm
For the Zzap Knife, I pretty much just used Teleporta Pack, Juiced-Up Tellyporta and Sturdy Bitz to dissolve any squad member up through wave 13 or so. It might take a few tries, but if your team mates are willing, you could ask they save the big chunks of squads in the first 5 or 6 waves for you.

guys any tips to unlock Zzap Knife? ReplyThe Horglesays:February 4th, 2012 at 11:18 pm

As far as tellyporta exploshions go, you pretty much just need this:
Zzap Knife
Teleporta Pack/Mad Teleporta Pack
Juiced Up Tellyporta
Sturdy Bitz
Sturdy Bitz are not required, but it REALLY sucks when you get knocked down every time you or something near you teleports. I generally spec in Cybork parts for the extra armor. Roks is also nice for later waves because the teleporta is your only energy-user.

Zzap Knife
Pokkit Rokkit Launcher
Teleporta Pack
Cybork Parts
Boom Time! Juiced Up Tellyporta
Trophy Rack
Tellyporta and Zzap Knife with Juiced Up Tellyporta meens you will rake in the kills and can go toe to toe with elite units and bosses. Pokkit Rokkit Launcher is great for knocking back elite units while your tellyporta recharges. Cybork Parts and Trophy Rack are awesome for keeping you alive and I find that if you do die youâll often be swamped by loads of units and elites so Boom Time!! will clear these out for your teammates to revive you.
Hope this helps.

Try using:
Big Choppa(For energy regen) Pokit rokkit Teleporta Pack Juiced up Tellyporta Cybork parts Sturdy bitz Trophy rack
Basically a build built around your tellyporta turning your orc into a very mobile bomb. Sturdy bitz are vital so u dont get knocked over by your own explosion. You basically just teleport around the field(into enemy groups). Its also easy to learn as u only use 1 button lol. The skill is in learning when and where to teleport, but as a general rule dont teleport where there arent enemies.
ReplyArcane Azmadisays:October 30th, 2011 at 1:14 am
Mekbomb build rules all.
Big Choppa (Zaap Knife once you get it)
Pokkit Rokkit Launcha (DLC)
Teleporta Pack
Cybork Parts
Sturdy Bitz Juiced Up Tellyporta (DLC)
Boss Pole
Just spam the hell out of the Teleporta, causing massive AoE damage with every jump. Sturdy Bitz make you immune to the knockdown, Cybork Parts overcome the paper-thin armour problem and a Choppa gives you regen. Pokkit Rokkits leet you knock down a wave at range just before you jump into it. Jump into a wave, then jump again on the spot and watch everything die. No need for anything else.

@Barrogh
Hel O Keety was telling Keeane how to get the 350 kills in order to get the Zaap Knife.
As for the max health thing, Iâm not sure since Iâve only used the Boss Pole with the Ported! accessory, but I know on the Anvil Iâve been able to kill IG tanks in 2-3 ports.

Hel O Keety actually shows pretty decent build, though I usually use Zzap Knife instead of big choppa. Itâs possible to make amazing combo-blasts capable of vaporizing large enemies sometimes.
Oh and I really, really recommend to choose Bitz over Tools.
With this build you can drag any team to 20th wave on Coliseum, assuming that your allies can do something (just pay attention on your HP!). Other than that, hero-killing potential is pretty good too.
Also I have a feeling that J-tellyportaâs blast damage is based on max HP of the object ported (or should I say âPorted!â?). If this is true, Boss Pole will do the job even agains tanks or something like that.

Keep jumping into big groups of (easy to kill) enemies, avoid bosses if possibleâ¦have the SMs deal with those. You should have 350+ kills by wave 8 or 9

Well, I can suggest two ways to do this: ReplyFunnehRabbitMansays:August 29th, 2011 at 8:42 am
1) Big Choppa/Default, âEvy Armor, Sturdy Bits, Cybork Parts, Docâs Tools (Megah Rumblah if you donât have the Tools) and Roks (Trophy Rack and Rumblah are also funny but less effective for kill counts). Itâs not that high level to do this and generally you can toe to toe masses of trash for energy to drop more Roks on other things. I like to open with Roks one one gate and then laugh gleefully as I run at the next gate. You can ALSO use Roks to cover yourself by dropping them in a mass and then run in to gut heavies/stragglers. 2) SORTA exploit: Get two friends in the game. Have them get big guy busters and you just get stuff to wipe out trash. Rack up the kills. :p You could also just hope that one person drops. Had that happen once for me. The Farseer and I held out until wave 15 on the original with the build I listed above. Had a ton of kills a the end as it was split two ways. ðŸâ¢â
@Rodders It doesnât count kills you had before the achievement was added.

ReplyFunnehRabbitMansays:August 15th, 2011 at 4:17 am
@Keeane I got 350 by the end of Wave 17 on Colosseum using a Rok Tank build before the DLC was even announced. Itâs definitely doable without the DLC. It might take a few tries to get it right (and it also depends on your team; that Captain going for the same achievement will definitely be a cock block), but you donât need to spend money to get it.
ReplyKeeanesays:August 14th, 2011 at 7:07 pm

ReplyFunnehRabbitMansays:August 8th, 2011 at 8:32 pm
Figured Iâd post some more builds while I was here:
Big Choppa
Pokkit Rokkit Launcha/Default
*Leaky Armor/âEavy Armor
Sturdy Bitz
**Cybork Parts/Dokâs Tools Proximity Mines
Boss Poll
A fun and pretty effective build focused on spamming proximity mines. Proximity mines do pretty good damage and cause heavy amounts of disruption. On top of that, their spread is determined on how far you are from where you target (kind of a shotgun effect). Because of this, when engaging and holding targets in close range, throwing a cluster of mines at their feet will act as a kind of makeshift grenade thatâs not necessarily wasted if the intended target moves out of range.
You wonât be getting as many kills as you would be with a Juiced Up Tellyporta or Rok Tank build, but you will be able to take more than a few hits and your allies donât have to worry about friendly fire.
*If you want a bit more damage mitigation, take âEavy Armor over Leaky Armor. Leaky Armor doesnât give you the extra mitigation or health, but it does give free mines.
**Cybork Parts/Dokâs Tools: Again, up to you. Cybork Parts give flat damage reduction, whereas Dokâs Tools increase your teamâs chances of survival.
ReplyJohnsays:August 7th, 2011 at 11:26 pm
if you use rocs, a teleport chest e.g. teleporta pack ormad teleporta pack along with juiced up teleporta you will rake in the killsâ¦.

For zap knife, you need:
Big Choppa | Pokkit Rokkit Launcher Teleporter Juiced up Tellyporta | Sturdy Bitz | Cybork Parts Boss Pole/Trophy Rack
I played this on anvil, got well over 400 kills first try with my friends not playing with me, very easy, dont stick around for melee, just teleport and go boom straight into the first block you see, should be teleporting every 5 seconds minimum.
ReplyWallysays:July 28th, 2011 at 7:39 am
Found another (albeit cheap) use for the Electric Armor; but requires quite a specific build:
Characters: 2xFarseer, 1xMekBoy Farseers both need the conceal ability to work effectively. +confuse it also nice to have. Mekboy only really needs Electric Armor and the Battery Pack (but throw in some roks for good measure/so it doesnt become a snooze fest)
Essentially one farseer casts conceal close to the enemies, and everyone stands in it, nobody shoots. The electric armor will do damage without revealing the mekboy, and will hence slowly kill the enemies. When the conceal is about to run out the 2nd farseer casts conceal in the same general area.
Pretty boring. You just sit there. and stuff dies. you also wont get many points cos you wont be killing fast or capturing the points much. But it will get you far as long as you dont stand on-top of enemiesâ¦
The farseers can use mass-confuse/storm and the mekboy can use roks every so often to speed up the waves a bit; the battery pack should make sure everyone has enough energy regardless as long as you plan the mass-attacks.
For lvl 16/20 make sure the farseers also have confuse, to confuse the dopplegangers to kill themselves.
like i said, boring, but essentially un-attackable.
ReplyBlackAngelsays:July 26th, 2011 at 7:45 pm
An awesome effective and fun build i found was:
Big Choppa/Zzap Knife | Pokkit Rokkit Launcha
Teleporta Pack
Juiced Up Tellyporta
Sturdy Bitz Cyborg parts
Trophy Rack
you simply teleporta into some enemies, fight for a second go boom, and repeat.
Big choppa gives energy while Zzap Knife gives more BOOM! but be cautious since Ported!! hits allyâs as well (damage and knockback), and since you canât control Zzap Knife, it is a bad choice with fragile allies. Another good thing about the build is that clones donât even use one tenth of this builds power.
The build is a bit fragile although that isât that big a problem since you teleport about all the time. Because Ported!! hits allyâs itâs not that good a team build. But a fine strategy is that you take care of all the snotlings while your allyâs take the big fish.
Personally I got 554 kills in Coliseum (my allyâs go about 78 and 125).
ReplyBeetsays:July 22nd, 2011 at 9:18 pm
My favourite setup:
Zzap Knife
Pokkit Rokkit Launcha Mad Teleporta Pack Boom Time Juiced Up Tellyporta Sturdy Bitz Roks
Run into a group, everything teleports and explodes, throw down Roks for added insanity.

Heres a build I favor, sâplosive expert mek
Zaap knife
Pokkit rokkit launcha
leaky armor
Cyborg parts/ bouncy shield
Proximity mines/ docâs tools Boom time/ âuge bombz
Rocks
Basically you lay out the mines or bomb and wait. The leaky armor there to add some mines. Boom time incase you fall in battle that way you take the enemy with you. BE WARNED, standing near your allies and dying will harm them too.
ReplyWallysays:July 11th, 2011 at 2:57 am
My suggestion Munk would be to find generous allies who dont care about the kills so much; you dont need to do it on anvil (i didnt)
When i got over 350 kills was when both my allies were fulfilling the âtankâ role (essentially just absorbing the damage and not killing much themselves). We would camp one of the entrances; with my 2 allies and I quickly killing the spawned units then my 2 allies sitting at the front of the gate while i sat behind with the shootaâ¦. they would just take lots of hits and then when the enemies were clumped i would call Roks down and rake in the kills. It actually worked really well as a team strategy too.
However now that my Tyranid ally has found the effectiveness of Toxic Miasma i barely ever get that many kills because we have a different strategy. So yeah, just ask your friends/allies to go with the strategy i mentioned above, and provided you get to a decent level, you should get over 350 kills if your allies arent trying to kill as many things as possible.
ReplyBaron von HoopleDooplesays:July 8th, 2011 at 8:28 pm
Two things are (practically) a must when it comes to earning the Zaap Knife: playing on anvil and having cooperative, competent allies.
Basically you just need to survive until late in the game and have your allies leave the easy kills for you. As far as getting the kills you have a few options:
1) Big Shoota. This lets you kill any enemies you encounter. Use with the teleporter so you can rapidly relocate to target the weaker ones. It wonât kill the weak ones particularly fast, and youâll have to be careful not to die. This does make you pretty useful to the team, and increases the chance you survive till the late game.
2) Flamer. Used with either the teleporter or heavy armor, the flamer lets you mow down weak enemies. Youâll have a very difficult time killing any other ones, however. If you are using the flamer you really need your allies to save all the weak enemies before you run out of them
3) Roks. Roks can take down all but the most powerful enemies in a wide area, but canât be used too often. While it can be used in conjunction with the Flamer or Big Shoota, if you really want to maximize your Rok usage bring the Big Choppa and Speshul Tools
Replymunksays:July 7th, 2011 at 3:49 pm
Does anyone know a good way to get the Zaap Knife?
ReplyWallysays:July 7th, 2011 at 2:25 am
Barrogh asked if anyone has found a use for the other armor:
The general answer is that they arent very useful⦠But: I had a go at using a Electric Armor, Bouncy Shield, Cybork Parts, Mega-Rumblah, Roks (cant remember what weaponâ¦probably the big shoota) I dont think we got past lvl12 although i put that down to the fact someone dropped out, so it was just me an a hive tyrant.
Essentially it was good as spawn camping; i ran into one of the spawns in the first few waves and never left; i would just cast bouncy shield on myself and run around knocking things over while the armor did the damage; my tyranid buddy would poison his area to kill the majority of those units quickly; at which point he would meet up with me to take some damage while i recovered energy for roks to use on the remainder. When there was a few enemies left the hive tyrant would go back to another starting point, spawn his tyrant on the other side to open the gate and we would repeat.
Still prefer my teleporta/roks/extra energy build⦠for jumping around and then roking a bunch of guys; it tends to be the most effective⦠or just the heavy damage taker role with all the armor/regen bits while my mates take the kills. but this was a fun detour from my usual i guess.

Epic Mek Build
Zaap Knife
Pokkit Rokkit Launcha âEavy Armor Cybork Parts Sturdy Bitz Juiced Up Tellyporta Roks
Masses of armor and no knockdown makes you a real tank. Zaap Knife teleports you and enemies around to activate explosions. Roks take down swarms with ease and you can survive if you call it on yourself. If you ever need to regen take cover and whip out your Pokkit Rokkits.
One final note: this build makes your clone ridiculously tough. Make sure an ally has good anti-armor.

Your aim is to attack the weaker enemies in meelee so that your Big Choppa gains you lots of energy. This energy will give you the opportunity to cover the field with Proximity Mines while the Leaky Armor sprays those mines automatically on meelee hits. Your high defense (211) and the Trophy Rack will make you impassible to most attacks, but when it comes to Wraithlords, Killa Kans or Dreadnoughts, you should use the common trick of throwing Proximity Mines right at your feet so that those units will take 5 explosions at once and will most likely go down. Itâs quite an orky strategy as it has to do with big bangs, chopping and knocking enemies down. So enjoy. ^^

New Stuff with the last patch :
Zaap knife : http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/7749/zaapknifeorkmekboy.png
HowToGetIt : Kill 350 enemies during 1 game Comment : High Dps, the whole squad is teleported when you attack it (50% of chance). Currently bug (I think), the teleported unit gain the benefit of the phase out (very annoying when attacking a vehicle for example, if teleported, canât be hit during 3 4 sec). Can be combined with mad teleporter armor, if you want to be always teleported anywhere (you make almost no damage, but you are very hard to kill since you are often phased out). Another drawbacks in that the teleported squad tends to change target, attacking an other ally.
Leaky Armor : http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/7749/leakyarmororkmekboy.png ReplyBarroghsays:April 4th, 2011 at 9:09 pm
HowToGetIt : Kill 2500 enemies Comment : 25% when hit to release 2 explosives mines around you. The mines are not released exactly on your position, you have to move a little in order that the attacking squad get actually hit by the mines. Very interesting when you are attacked by small melee units, you are literally leaking mines everywhere (I released perhaps 10 mines in 1 sec that way for example). Became pretty useless against powerful units, since the damage are not very high and the units canât be knocked back. Good combination with the flamers, when a melee squad engage you, just run in circle spreading mines around you while attacking the other enemies.
Collins, basic advice is to get some people into your friendlist and play with them as a team more often. Deffgun-based builds are way too team-dependant. ReplyCollins254says:April 2nd, 2011 at 9:19 am
Btw I think that the best ally for such mek is mass TP farseer.

Weapon: Dakka deff gun
Armour: Teleporta pack Utilities: âUge bomz, Sturdy bitz, Cybork parts Commander item: Trophy rack
I basically spend the first 10 waves in south east corner laying down uge bomz and supressing enemies while my allies slam them into the floor, then the next few waves luring enemies into well placed traps, however i still cant get past wave 17, dam warriors are too fast AND immune to supression, and advice for wave 17 anyone?

Support Rokkit Launcha build:
Armor: Teleporta Pack
Weapon : Rokkit Launcha Accessories: Speshul Tools, Sturdy Bitz, Cybork Parts Commander: Roks
Works best with: SM, HT, Narc Sorc
How-to: Kite with Teleporta, drop Roks on choke points, and focus-fire troublesome enemies.
Priorities are: 1. Melee units engaging your allies â Banshees, Nobs, Warriors, etc. 2. Artillery â Zoanthropes, Shuriken platforms, etc. 3. Heavy walkers â Carnifex, Dreadnoughts, Wraithlords, etc. 4. Cluster enemies â Gaunts, Boyz, Eldar, etc.
Analysis: The Rokkit Launcha build is built around the weaponâs two best qualities â armor penetration and knockdown â as well as its core weakness, slow fire-rate and low damage. Since you wonât be killing things left and right unless you teleport right on top of weak enemies and fire straight into their mass (which hardly every happens) youâll be relying on a tanky melee character to deal with most of the enemies while you keep the gameâs heavy hitters off their asses.
Survival: If your tank falls, or you get aggro, teleport the fuck out of there. The Launchaâs knockdown allows you to kite sufficiently by yourself, and aside from suppression, nothing slows you down in your mad flight to safety. If youâre the last one standing (this happens often), try to teleport so that your fallen ally is between you and the enemy, allowing you to fire at them (and knock them back, buying you more time) while you raise your ally.
Conclusion: You are weak, but useful. Unfortunately, youâre also situational. If you see a bunch of ranged heroes, you wonât be using this build.
Replyultrasloth7says:November 14th, 2010 at 11:23 pm
well, i thought iâd throw a class out for you guys too
Support Mek:
Armor: Eavy Wep: Dakka Deffgun Accs: Cyborg partz,Sturdy bitz, Bouncy Shield Comm:trophy rack
strategy: generally you should turtle in one of the exits, i prefer the north and east because it has some nearby cover. Also if you want he greatest chance at success, find a farseer who can teleport your team from exit to exit, and lay down eldritch storm on the enemies you suppress. Then all you need is someone to lay down serious dps, this is typically done by a narc sorcerer who can burn the masses of mobs with let the galaxy burn! This team is highly effective, but wave 16 can be tricky, it will require that your farseer use their abilities in a clever manner. Using this build Iâve gotten to wave 19 before my team lagged out and dropped
ReplyDiscontentsays:November 9th, 2010 at 8:54 pm
Hereâs a build for all of you to try out that I really enjoy.
Ork Kiteboy:
Weapon: Big Choppa Armor: âEavy Armor Accessories: Proximity Mines, Cybork Parts, Sturdy Bitz Commander Item: Trophy Rack
General Strategies:
Kiting: To kite enemies, run around the edge of the arena in a circle pattern. This will cause the enemies to group up as they follow you. Use kiting when you are low on health. Try not to fight below half health. Your health regen can outmatch most ranged damage.
Proximity Mines: Use Proximity mines at short range so they cluster in tight piles. Prox Mines donât hurt you or allies, so you can throw them at your feet to do heavy damage at short/melee ranges.
Specific Strategies:
Eldar: Close with the heavy gun platforms and Proximity Mine them at short range for instant kills. The heavy guns are the only things that are a threat to you, because suppression prevents running away. Kite Wraith Lords and large groups to break them up, and Prox Mine the ones in front when your health is high. Kill heavy guns at every opportunity. When heavy guns are down, engage Wraith Lords and use prox mines at short range to kill them. Return to kiting when health is below half.
Marines: Sit behind cover and chuck Prox Mines at long range against plasma gun squads. The armor pen on plasma guns is a serious threat, avoid engaging large groups of them and try to stay out of range when kiting. Handle Dreadnoughts just like Wraith Lords.
Everything Else: Close in and drop mines at your feet when surrounded by large groups. Kite when below half health. Handles Carnifexes just like Wraith Lords.
With this build Iâve been able to solo every wave up to 16. This build is great for teaming with low armor allies that tend to drop fast, because you are likely to still be alive and able to rez.

This build is a lazy stand/shoot, let your minion fight in front of you and win build. If you have a teamate who can supress the ennemy itâs realy easy to win with this build :
-Venom Cannon
-Bonded Exoskeleton
-Ravener Nest
-Warrior Nest or Tyrant Guard Nest (More damage / more resistant tank) â Implant Attacks
â Evolution
Basically, you just stand back, spawn your minion and shoot. Note that this Venom cannon do a lot of damage in melee (I never understand why)

ReplyTysonsays:February 11th, 2015 at 1:09 am
Lazy build.
Enlarged Scything Talons
Bonded Exoskeleton
Warrior Nest
Implant Attacks Toxin Sacs
Evolution
Your Warrior has loads of extra health, his health regen makes him nigh unkillable. Meanwhile, as he takes loads of damage, he dishes out extra damage, is armour piercing, knocks back enemies and his toxin sacs damage is more than doubled because of the gear you have on. ReplyVoidVodzsays:August 27th, 2013 at 9:46 am
Just sit back and let your minion solo any character you want him to.
BTW, I also use your exact build, we must be connected by the Hive Mind!

are there any good loadouts with reinforced chitin in?
ReplyLordofhivesays:July 18th, 2013 at 12:17 pm
The best loadout for me is:
Crushing talons
Poison cysts
Biofeedback
Explosive decomposition Genestealer nest
Synapse
This allows you to run into a large horde of enemyâs and Use toxic miasma to kill most of them,it also allows you to spawn gene stealers and then spawn more and kill the other ones and activate biofeedback making you invunerable for a short period of time keep spawning and killing genestealers and you shield will remain up almost indefinitely only leaving a small half a second gap while the genestealers load, on top of this every time your genestealers attack you regain health. this leaves you practically invincible with all these things and makes you able to take on almost anything ( I say almost anything because on wave 16 doppelgänger it really depends how your teammates help you because even your awesome hive tyrant canât take on all three at once.
ReplySilent_lucksays:May 25th, 2013 at 11:55 pm
the best set-up for the hive tyrant is:
Behemoth Claw
Thornback Carapace
Bio-feedback
Genestealer nest Explosive Decomposition
Synapse
this Set-up allows you to run into combat, destroy everything and also have very cheap genestealers which, when they die you are invulnerable for a short period of time
Reply-SoL- Justicesays:January 25th, 2013 at 7:51 pm
Here is a setup I found that works well:
Behemoth Claw
Thornback Carapace
Ravener Nest
Explosive Decomposition Toxin Sacs
Evolution
This Setup makes u a heavy tank with a high kill count. The claw and armor give u 240 armor rating and the Explosive Decomposition for 50hp and the Evolution for the 2hp regen. The ravener for high ranged dps and ur claws do highest melee dps. Every setup has to use the toxin sacs because it is the highest damage item for the tyrant.
I have soloed all waves up to 12 with this setup as it can take and deal ALOT of damage.
ReplyHiveMindsays:January 25th, 2013 at 9:28 am
This is a great build I found easily got me to lv 20 anvil and beat it fairly easily, with a bit of help from my friendsâ¦
Enlarged Scything Talons/But any will probably do
-Minion awesomeness
Thornback Carapace
-Trash dies as they hit you, banshees, killa kans, dreadnaughts, avatars etcâ¦
Psychic Scream
-The trash doesnât kill you before they die Feedback Invulnerability -Speaks for itself Genestealers -Spam, spam spam, for maximum invulnerability effectiveness
Synapse
-Genestealers and psychic scream cost next to nothing
Basically spam genestealers and the chips are never down. with heavies or banshees or anything remotely dangerous, use the psychic scream and the enemy becomes as effective against your tyrant as a mewing kitten. I killed all the superheavies within 5-10 seconds as psychic scream also reduces the defence of the opponents drastically. This is a team carrying tank build right here.
Enjoy

Having experimented at the weekend the Genestealer spam build is awesome:
Poison Cysts

I played twice at the weekend, once with Crushing Talons for extra healing and once with Behemoth Claw. I found it easier with Crushing Talons, keeping a higher health bar but got more kilss withthe Behemoth Claw. I completed Anvil with each of these builds with no âdeathsâ at level 16. ReplyTsenzeisays:December 6th, 2011 at 5:57 pm
Nazgren: You might want to try the forums on Relic or the related Steam forums, they should have tech staff.
My best guess was that your connection to Steam or something crashed. The character stats are stored on exterior servers, and wouldnât show up properly if there was no communication between their server and your computer. If this is the case, it should have sorted itself out when the connection was repaired.
If not, then again youâll want to get a hold of Relic and/or Steam tech support.

I have found the Devourer to be an amazing weapon. With searing from Toxic sacs it does stupid DoT dmg against whole squads. Its a tag each group fire and forget. But it still eats up nobs, walkers and vehicles fairly quickly as each hit seems to accumulate DoT stacks.
I usually use Synapse/Bio Feedback/Warrior/thornback carapace ReplyArcane Azmadisays:November 22nd, 2011 at 1:16 am
when in trouble just resummon warrior to give invul shield. That being your only activatable ability you can spam it all day in the thick of things. Cooldown on warrior is just a hair longer than invul shield so your damn hard to kill and you can laugh as you stand in one place tagging everything with devourer DoTs
You definitely have to get killing blows on superheavies to get Heavy Hitter. Given that superheavies ONLY appear on the later levels of the Anvil of Khorne, you have to make sure your teammates donât get the last blow and theyâre no pushovers, this is why itâs one of the hardest (or at least most time-consuming) achievments in the entire game to get.
Iâd suggest using the following build to farm it:
Crushing Talons
Poison Cysts
Genestealer Nest
Psychic Scream Explosive Decomposition
Synapse
The key to the build is spamming. Poison Cysts allows you to wipe out entire waves of weak units with Toxic Miasma and Psychic Scream lets you deal with the heavier ones, both by drastically reducing the damage they do to you and letting you kill them faster, so they donât do as much damage. Constantly spam your Genestealers, even if theyâre already still alive- they keep you alive with Feedback Zeal and every time you summon them the existing ones explode in a cloud of poison. Synapse gives you basically infinite energy, even if you spam Toxic Miasma like mad. You may be cutting things a bit fine trying to solo the Avatar and waves where your Genestealers donât last too long can give you trouble (Bloodletters are your worst enemy) but careful timing with Psychic Scream is key to reducing damage as much as possible and maximising your own in its duration. Its area is quite large, so try to position yourself to can catch as many enemies in it as possible.

@Tsenzei
Iâm pretty sure that the numbers for the HT are off on a number of things. The Implant Attacks donât adjust his combat scores, like similar items do for the other commanders, for example. Actually, I think every commander has some items where the listed stats are wrong, but itâs most obvious with the HT.
Anyway, just from using it a couple of times, I think the Rending Stranglethorn does apply a DOT (I fired it at some enemies in TBC, didnât have Searing or any other DOT effects active, but the HP of the enemies looked like it was still going down with nothing else affecting them).
ReplyTsenzeisays:November 16th, 2011 at 4:12 am
Speaking of achievements, Iâve noticed that the Rending Stranglethorn damage is⦠odd.
It lists as 9.8 damage, with a 3 second delay between each shot. Iâm not sure if thatâs accurate, I think it might fire more often for example but I havenât timed it. In any event, Iâm guessing that the 16.0 DPS might be from the melee, and the attack animation shown when you equip it is a melee attack rather than firing the gun (like with Devourer, Venom Cannon, etc.)
If the information in the stats window is correct, the actual DPS of the ranged weapon would be ~3.3
Or they just messed up on one or more of the numbers displayed, not sure which.
Back on the topic of Heavy Hitter: You do at least need to hit the Superheavy, but Iâm not sure about killing blow. If you just avoid it, you wonât get credit even if youâre still alive. Given how all the others work, I do think you need to get killing blows from abilities attacks and/or pets though. Either way, itâs best to go for killing blows.
ReplyFunnehRabbitMansays:November 14th, 2011 at 10:42 pm
@Bobbo From what Iâve been able to tell through farming them you or one of your minions needs to land the killing blow. So, for example, if youâre down and your Ravener keeps firing on the Great Unclean One and gets the last blow, itâs your kill.

This is a massive AoE DPS Built because of your own health (Poison Cysts) and the dmg by exploding minions. Sometime i just reset my minions just to watch them die an kill enemies. A nice Top is the invulnerability and the 30% chance of special meele hits. But in wave 16 the enemy hive tyrant will âforgetâ to die and start killing your party.^^

So, for âSuper Heavy Targetsâ just to clarify. Are they only bosses? Do Zoanthropes count for example, or are they only vehicles like Walkers and Carnifex?
Also, does the HT need to get the last hit, or can itâs minions or Toxin Sacâs/Gestate DoTs get it?
It seems like, no matter how many bosses and vehicles I kill, I almost never get credit for the achievement.

Venom Cannon is not under ratedâ¦itâs too goodâ¦if you are playing Bloodied Colliseum, your wave 16 clone will destroy your group in seconds.
Venom Cannon is so underrated. Itâs mad good (better than the dlc Devourer cannon) as it gives high dmg for BOTH ranged and melee (yes melee does 20 dmg and ignores armor!!) It shoots faster than the Devourer cannon (2.5sec compared to Venomâs 1.0sec)

The suicide bomber build. You have 225 HP, so your Toxic Miasma will kill anything that closes in. With Synapse you can spam Genestealers quite long, which will make you very tough and some damage on top. Venom Cannon deals with ranged/tough targets.
ReplyRod911says:August 29th, 2011 at 3:42 pm
Behemoth Claw
Thornback Carapace
Warp Field
Implant Attacks Psychic Scream
Synapse
Treat your MP reserve as if it was your HP, so turn on Warp Field when you find your HP is down to around 60-70. Once turned on, you can let your HP recover. Use Psychic Scream as often as you want (highly recommended) to mitigate the use of Warp Field.
Also, try to kill ranged enemies first with this setup. The reason? Any melee enemies that come into contact with you get automatically damaged by your armor. If you happen to have screamed at them before they attacked you, watch your enemyâs HP fritter away as they attack you (BTW, now would be a good time to have turned on your Warp Field also).
ReplyFunnehRabbitMansays:August 29th, 2011 at 8:49 am
Got another one Iâve been using as of late:
Enlarged Scything Talons
Bonded Exoskeleton
Ravener Nest
Implant Attacks Psychic Scream
Evolution
With this, your Ravener becomes a god. Youâre a little squishier as a result, but Psychic Scream helps remedy that somewhat while reducing any defenses they may have left versus your Ravener. I was using Toxin Sacs in place of Psychic Scream before, but the Ravener easily killed its targets before the searing had a chance to do any damage (and several of my targets before mine had a chance to do anything as well). Those seeking extra protection might want to try Bio-Feedback in place of Psychic Scream; a little extra health and makes the death of your Ravener (those rare times it happens) a little easier to handle (and gives a clutch immunity if you need to run into a blob to bring up an ally).

Rending Stranglethorn
Bonded Exoskeleton
Toxic Sacs
Implant Attacks Tyrant Guard Nest
Evolution
A build designed to take advantage of the Searing trait by maximizing both you and your minionsâ health.
Iâve been playing around with weapon choices, and the three that seem to work best are Rending Stranglethorn, Devourer Cannon, and High-Toxin Venom Cannon. Personally, I prefer the Stranglethorn, since it spreads the Searing damage around faster and Suppresses besides. Devourer Cannon is a close second; while it doesnât Sear as quickly, it still has better single-target DPS than the Stranglethorn and can put a DoT on a single squad regardless of their positioning. If you donât have access to either of these weapons, the AoE of the High-Toxin Venom Cannon, however small, is still preferable to single-target, and it can also boost your minionsâ survivability a bit.
As for minions, I prefer the Tyrant Guard because his high health makes for some mean Searing and his ability to taunt can keep annoying melee units off of you.
This build is still being tested but as of now appears to work fine.

Just spam Genestealers! When your cooldown has run out for genestealers, your energy has recharged to max and your invulnerability has worn out. So just resummon!
you could use any of the 3 mentioned weapons depending on if you want health from your genestealers or not and you could use any ranged weapon, really, if you donât want to get into melee fights with enemies and just want to sit back and let your genestealers do their job.

Ok, let me respond to some questions people have asked.
âAre the Behemoth Claws worth it?â
The answer is a definitely. Sure, 25 superheavies may seem daunting, but 30 damage a hit whilst piercing armour makes these claws one of the best weapons in the game. I am on Level 20, and I have found that you shouldnât really try to get these claws until at least Level 15, when you get Synapse. For those of you on Level 20 trying to get it, here is my loadout:
Crushing Talons
Poison Cysts
Toxin Sacs (surprisingly, once you get to this kind of level, they really do help a lot)
Warp Field (donât even try without one of these) Ravener Nest (by far the best nest)
Evolution
I had to play about 6 hours or so to get this achievement and weapon, but itâs worth the work. By the way, you have to play Anvil of Khorne to get this achievement, and the units you should be aiming for are:
Swarmlord (Wave 13)
Battlewagon (Wave 16) Avatar (Wave 17) Greater Daemon of Nurgle (Wave 18) Baneblade (Wave 19) Land Raider (Wave 20)
Next question.
âIs there any way to get Megakill without it being a fluke?â
Ok, so basically, the key is to have Scything Talons and Toxic Miasma. Thatâs all there is to it. Apart from Banshee hordes and Termagant hordes later on in the Colosseum, the only way to get this is to play Anvil of Khorne (again). Although, I wouldnât make any special effort to get this as the Stranglethorn whatever-it-is is very, very bad.
Oh, and another âbeastâ loadout for a melee Tyrant is this:
Behemoth Claw â nothing more needs to be said.
Poison Cysts â good armour, deals with hordes nicely and gives you a boost of health.
Warp Field â +50 energy is a massive bonus, and if you are stuck then pull out the Warp Field and you basically get to relive your life again whilst regenerating previously lost health.
Ravener Nest â probably one of the best upgrades you can get. The Ravener is an absolute tank on the field, and combined with other items mentioned here, makes it ridiculously powerful. Itâs devourers seem to negate quite a bit of armour so it is handy when going solo against a dreadnought.
Toxin Sacs â this is just a personal favourite. +20 minion creature health, and with damage being scaled up with health it is a pretty sexy item to have, and is best for one on one fighting.
Evolution â OK, so this basically pimps up your Ravener. This is just an epic item to have on the battlefield, and helps you regenerate health.
Well, thatâs enough from me, I hope what I have said helps.
THE TYRANT LORD
ReplyWolfinexilesays:June 23rd, 2011 at 7:53 pm
I simply call this build beast because thats what you feel like as you use it.
Devour cannon
Thornback Carapace Explosive decompostion Biofeedback Warrior nest Synapse
The idea is to find some heavy cover and simply sit there as your cannon picks people off and warrior charges in. You can literally spam warrior summon as much as possible and never run out of energy and give yourself immunity to damage and cause explosions. If anyone attempts to melee you the armor will kill them. The star point of the build is if you spam warrior enough theres only about a 4 second or less window where you can be damaged so the only massed fire or the swarmlord can kill you.

just wondering, does anyone know if the Behemoth Claw is worth the trouble of killing the super-heavies? thanks ?
ReplyMK Babylonsays:June 4th, 2011 at 10:56 pm
Hive Champion
Behemoth Claw
Thornback Carapace
Ravener Nest
Implant Attacks Warp Field
Evolution
This highly aggressive built relies on the massive damage and defense potential of the newest HT wargear. At the price of minion support, it offers him the tools to take down the greatest threats you will face in The Last Stand (Walkers, Tanks, BC Heros, AoK Superunits) in a few hits. On this base and by adding Implant Attacks for additional damage and Warp Field for the case of critical health and for the close duel against the Superunits, the Hive Champion might become the ultimate tank hero. The Ravener is a good choice as third item here because of his high damage output while the Evolution is mostly used because of the +2.0 HP Regeneration â the additional power for the Ravener is a good side effect. Replys-zsays:June 2nd, 2011 at 4:36 am
Have fun. ^^
hereâs a good video to anyone still wanting to getmegakill, I was able to get it on my first try after watching this video and all it requires is toxic miasma armor.
Has anyone tried a solo build based around behemoth claws? Iâve done pretty well as a solo HT with just the normal claws that grant combat expert and armor piercing to minions, but the BCâs would be a LOT better seeing how I get armor ignore and almost double dps off them. As long as energy shield is up my HT was untouchable, especially with a 100 energy shield. I think itâd be a pretty good build with a mek who had âave a taste since the HTâs energy regen isnât that great.
ReplyPetroklossays:June 1st, 2011 at 2:32 pm
Devourer Cannon
Thornback Carapace
Toxin Sacks
Explosive Decomposition Warrior / Tyrrant Guard Nest
Evolution
This is a build based on the Hive-Tyrantâs power. The massive DoT of the Devourer Cannon (which ignores Armor-Ratings), will make the Tyrant wipe blobs in a hit or two, âdevourerâ heavier enemiesâ HP and bring down massive threats (Superunits, Hero-Terminator etc.) before they even manage to get near him. And with the massive armor rating and the DoT of the Thornback Carapace (which ignores Armor-Ratings too), the Tyrant regains his massive Melee capabilities, lost by the Devourer Cannonâs barely noticable Melee damage. In addition to all those, the +2hp regeneration and +50hp, really help with survival problems (not to mention the +5 damage Searing Bonus, now reaching -15hp/2sec.). Finally with a quite durable Melee minion, knockbacking your foes around or taunting the hell out of them, while dealing significant damage (especialy thanks to Searing), even on death (Death Throes), this build makes the Hive Tyrant really powerful and fun to play.

@ultrasloth7: You can get it fairly easily on Anvil, max out your HTâs hp and use toxic cysts on the guardsmen blobs.

@ Barry
The Ravener is fantastic, and a massive damage dealer. You might not be able to see easily, but he shoots even when underground. The upside of this is he is much more survivable, the downside is of course that he is not diverting attention away from you in the same way a Warrior or Tyrant Guard does.
Dawn Of War 2 Retribution Wargear Mod 3ReplyBarrysays:April 23rd, 2011 at 4:53 am
The Barbed Strangler thing you get for the Megakill achievement was a letdown for me. I expected a grenade launcher and got an inaccurate and frankly pathetic damage suppresion weapon. The Behemoth Claw has INSANE damage and will crush almost ANY enemy in melee. A HT set for solo combat isnât advised so a Tyrant Guard, Warrior and Genestealer swarm will handle the smaller enemies (the big ones too if at level 20 you equip Evolution) but DO NOT use the Ravener. I always look round and see it burrowed underground for round after round so please, use the weaker Warrior cos it will get more kills in the long run. The Crushing Claws as mentioned are a staple weapon of INVINCIBILITY which grant near-impossible survivability. The armor is your choice. Poison Cysts kill even tough enemies, the Bonded Exoskeleton further makes the minions untouchable and the Reactive armor is great for taking on hordes of small enemies (sorry canât remember what itâs called). Bio Plasma can be useful for stunning enemies before the charge but it is less useful once you GET there. A note on the weapons while I remember. Venom cannons are ok but they are both weak in their own way. The standard one is powerful but useless without minions to occupy the enemy. The High Toxin one has splash damage and heals your minions so it can be a decent weapon but both pale in comparison to the claws. The Hive Tyrant is only equalled by the Captain who is versatile and can be modded to fit the playerâs style. It is still regarded as the strongest of the 6 and worth every second leveling up.

Crushing Talons
Reinforced Chitin Warrior Nest Tyrant Guard Nest Ravener Nest Evolution
Pretty simple high lvl built. The three most effective beasts in the Hive Tyrantâs rows reinforced with the different effects of Evolution and RC will be close to invincible. ReplyBarroghsays:March 28th, 2011 at 8:24 pm
The only thing you will have to care about is your own health. While RC (itâs reactive armor is usually more effective than the higher armor ratings of the other armors) gives you an armor rating rising with each strike you take in the hot phase of the combat, the Crushing Talons increase your health with each attack of your minions (for that purpose, Raveners are essential for your survival â if your Ravener dies, replace him IMMEDIATELY). If you are aimed by heavy beasts or heros with high damage ratings, run away as fast as you can â the RC will not save you from heavy single attacks. Try it and have fun. ^^
Pretty straightforward build includes Ravener and Venom canon, add all minion upgrades items. Now you have very dangerous turret. You may take Miasma against Stormies and guys like that though.
ReplyAmaraensays:March 4th, 2011 at 2:26 pm
Use a real manâs build.
Poison Cysts
Crushing Talons Genestealers Bio Feedback Your Choice Synapse
You are now an unstoppable force of ugly nature and you can shock random teammates as you go âRAGRHRARGRGARGRHGâ and attack three Carnifexes at once. None shall stop you as you become the God of Death and melee down the huge monsters that make the heaviest armoured Ork run in fear. Begone are the whims and worries of mortals as your talons and teeth clash down on the most hardened armour in spark and fury, a thousand dreadnaughts will flame you and burn your hardened carapace only in vain to feel your mighty sharpened appendages slice and bully their way through their armour. End the world you shall as the fires of chaos embrace you, not the overwhelming odds of an entire guard regiment or the entire chapter of blood ravens will overcome you as each of your furious bellows and blows becomes the ending of their lives.
You are unstoppable and you will bring about victory and death or probably just the latter.
Your minions are your health, with each strike their engraving unto the flesh of men and beast fills you with the impending feeling of inevitable victory. Your health shall be renewed with every slice they take into the ever beating heart of the enemy. With the death of your brood your life shall be renewed and coat your strength with fevered anger, the adrenaline rush making every attack of an enemy, whether by bolter or sword or fury mean nothing to you.
Your fury when surrounded by enemies will become your boon, as your skin erupts into acidic venom that slaughters your foes as their skin burns and their hearts freeze with paralysis. Not even the deep armour of dreadnaught or predator can stop the acidic burn of your explosive skin.
You will be victorious. You will be both the God and Bringer of Death. You are Tyranid. Your swarm is endless, every summoning of your brood merely a whisk of your talons, meaningless to your ability to execute. You are forever.
This build is a phenomenally easy one to play so long as you donât go and get yourself stuck in a situation you canât recover from. Your genestealerâs deaths will render you invulnerable, and while they live, they will renew your life. You can take on any enemy at all in hand to hand combat, with the exception of the most powerful melee enemies. You will feel indomitable, but donât get too excited. With Crushing Talons, you will be performing critical special attacks at a 30% rate, combined with poison cysts this causes you to do a massive amount of melee range AoE damage.
So long as you have bio-feedback and genestealers and synapse, you can keep yourself invulnerable for long periods of time. You want your minions to die as often as possible, re-summoning them also renews your shield. The best situation is letting your minions die one by one then renewing all three when the last one is left alive, this keeps your shield up 100% of the time but is very difficult to pull off. If your minions all die at once youâll have approximately 3 seconds of downtime without a shield and you will die quickly if surrounded by high power melee foes. Your poison cyst explosion is the best solution for any damage here.
Your third accessory is your choice, and thereâs multiple to choose from all with varying use. The best choice is Explosive decomposition, not only will your minions increase damage just by your resummoning of them, as they explode AND make you invulnerable, but it also increases your HP, thus increasing your poison ability even further as it does half your HP in damage. Other choices are Toxin Sacs, increasing your damage (frankly combat master from implant attacks isnât as virulent) and your minions HP or Psychic Scream, so you can survive even longer in melee combat.
The best combination here is an Ork Mekboy and an Eldar Farseer. The Ork needs the boss pole to provide you with 100 hp, increasing your poiison cyst damage ridiculously, as well as explosive decomposition. Eldar needs to provide you with Fortune, to reduce your damage taken by massive amounts, almost making you undefeatable in any situation. A chaos sorcerer with master summoning that makes a clone of the clone of you, youâll find, also creates a tremendously powerful tank that if lasts until wave 20 will help you immensely.
This build is well worth a go and I get a little bit excited about it.

If your looking for a high socre set-up Replyultrasloth7says:January 31st, 2011 at 7:49 pm
This is a fun setup it wonât work everytime you should get a good kill count and if you remember that the most inportant thing is to stay alive you should get 20mil as a score. You can make it harder if you drop evolution for an elitle token +5%. (But i suggest lotâs of practice before you try that. ) Venom Cannon Bonded Exoskeleton Toxin Sacs Ravener Nest Tyrant Guard Nest Evolution you need to play with at lest one none narc deathless chao better with two or orc with boss pole/ big shooter/ tele is cool to. Stand in the middle and shot, as the big hitter need to take out the bigger units. you may need to run around a bit on lev 12 if so let your ravener do the killing for your. On 16 hide from the enemy chao let the clones do the work. 17, 18 and 19 stand in the middle chao run and hide as required but keep your clones in the middle. 20 stand back and kill a few of the little one let the clones do all the hard work. one small point chao needs to have deathless this way when the clones health runs down they get recharged and do double damage for a short time..ha ha have fun
Who doesnât love builds, so I got a fresh one for all to try
Tyrant Sacrificer
Weapon: Heavy Talons
Armor: Toxic Cysts (plan on kiting⦠a lot) Acc: Genestealers (just trust me) Acc: Bio Feedback (now itâs staring to make sense) Acc: Explosive Decomposition (get it now?)
Comm:Synapse (lets you spam genestealers)
Okay, so the name of the game here mis kite and spam. True genestealers die easily, but thats what makes this so great. When you summon them both explosive decomposition and bio feedback trigger. Then, when each individual genestealer dies, they trigger yet again. So your game is mainly going to be kiting while forcing your enemies to walk through clouds of toxic (from your cysts)all whilst smacking them in the face with genestealers that act like living bombs, and provide you invulnerability. The best part is that synapse allows you to do this ReplyGravecatsays:May 13th, 2010 at 2:15 am
with impunity thanks to such low energy costs. However, as with any kite build you need teamwork to get this running. Wherever possible have your team try and drag them through your cysts. Above all else avoid plasma marines, they are a game ender unless you spam genestealers right in their faces, in which case they will turn to fight them only to be blown to pieces seconds later. ENJOY!
Finally got around to updating the list. Thanks for all the info, âtis much appreciated! ?

Explosive Decomposition â level 16 â Grants Minion Trait âDeath Throesâ (A toxic cloud erupts upon death of any minion creature, damaging enemies in a large area. The higher the minion creatureâs maximum Health, the greater the damage done), +20 Minion Creature Health, +50 Health.
Reinforced Chitin â level 17 â +80 Minion Creature Armor, +25 Health, Grants Traits âFearlessâ (Immune to suppression), âUnshakableâ (Makes the wearer immune to knockback) and âReactive armorâ (Hive Tyrant temporarily gains +10 Armor each time he is attacked, up to a maximum of +300 Armor), -14% Movement Speed.
Ravener Nest â level 18 â Grants Ability âCall Ravanerâ
High-Toxin Venom Cannon â level 19 â Two-handed ranged weapon, 5.7 dps. Grants Traits âZealous Leadershipâ (Attacks with the Hive Tyrantâs venom cannon heal all his minions for 5% of their maximum Health) and âArea of Effectâ (Attacks from this weapon deal damage over a small area)
Evolution â level 20 â +2 Health Regeneration, grants
Minion Traits âResilentâ (+50 Health and +2 Health Regeneration), âSwiftâ (+25% Movement Speed) and âCombat Expertâ (+25% melee and ranged damage).
*Note: every tyrant armor, except the Articulated Caparace, gives a negative bonus of 14% movement speed, thus itâd be noted as -14% mov speed.

Anyway, thanks for the info, Iâll adjust the list shortly. ?
ReplyTsenzeisays:April 19th, 2010 at 9:02 am
Just wanted to clarify a few things:
1: âThe Horrorâ is not an item, itâs an ability granted by Articulated Carapace. 2: âSynapseâ, despite the description, only reduces energy costs of abilities, not cooldowns. (50% reduction, rounded up)
Happy Gaming.
